Whether for the audiences on a professional stage or teaching youth in a technical workshop, Rod Oden is proud to have over fifteen years of experience in a variety of venues, genres, and audiences.

 

​Rod has designed on stage from Los Angeles to New Orleans, and virtually every type of venue.  Some of his most recent work includes Legally Blonde, the Musical, The Play That Goes Wrong (NC Regional Premiere), Little Shop of Horrors, Tuck Everlasting (New Orleans Regional Premiere), Chicago, The Big Easy BoysSinging in the Rain Jr., Company, Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap, SpamalotAddams Family, ShrekLombardi (WV Premiere), Irving Berin's White Christmas.  Other favorites include Chapter Two, Working, The Robber Bridegroom, Rumors, and Miracle on 34th Street.

Currently, Rod is the Executive Artistic Director of Lee Street Theatre in Salisbury, NC​.  He has worked with countless community groups, educational organizations, and professional theaters.  He has been the Executive Artistic Director for over 4 years.  Rod also serves as Adjunct Faculty Electrics, Sound and Video Design for Catawba College Theatre Arts Department.  Rod is the honored recipient of the Metrolina Theatre Association's William E. Rackley Technical Excellence Award (2022), Set Design and Sound Design Award for And Then There Were None, and has been recognized as a regional expert in the field of technical design and theatre management.

 

Rod lives in Salisbury, NC with his beautiful wife Raquel and his four precious boys Tristan, Lucas, Jamie, and Sylar.  He also enjoys spending time with his two lovely daughters Ariel and Isabelle.
